Through storytelling rooted in nature, migration, and stewardship, the Guardians of the Grove Literacy Program places books directly into the hands of children during storytime and community literacy events.
Sponsored books are distributed at no cost to families.

Mari the Monarch is a beautifully illustrated children’s book rooted in the monarch butterfly’s migratory journey and the importance of environmental stewardship.
Set against the backdrop of California’s natural landscape, the story invites children to understand legacy, transformation, and their role in caring for the earth.
