Kimberly Vaughan

Kimberly Vaughan is an author, event producer, and lifelong advocate for community engagement and environmental education. As the creator of several large-scale festivals in California—including the Mariposa Butterfly Festival and the Yosemite Chivalry & Fantasy Festival—Kimberly is passionate about inspiring wonder, creativity, and stewardship in people of all ages.

Her work with thousands of families and children over the years led to the creation of Miranda & Yose: Guardians of the Grove, a story that weaves fantasy and environmental care into an empowering tale for young readers. Deeply rooted in the beauty of the Sierra Nevada and the magic of childhood imagination, Kimberly’s stories aim to foster a love of nature, kindness, and responsibility.

When she isn’t writing or building festivals, Kimberly can be found exploring wildflower trails, planning fairy villages, or helping young minds fall in love with butterflies, dragons, and the world they live in.

A personal message to young readers and their grown ups.

Dear Readers (and the wonderful grown-ups who read with them),

Welcome to the magical world of Miranda & Yose and their forest friends!

These stories were written from the heart—with fairy wings, dragon dreams, and just the right amount of forest sparkle. Each book is a gentle adventure filled with imagination, kindness, and a love for nature. Whether it’s Miranda helping clean up the forest, Mari following the whispers of her ancestors, or Terrence stepping bravely into the moonlight, every character is here to remind us how magical you are.

To the young readers: You are powerful. Your choices matter. And the world needs your kindness, curiosity, and courage. You are already a Guardian of the Grove just by caring.

To the parents, teachers, and caregivers: Thank you for planting the seeds of wonder. Reading together creates more than just memories—it builds compassion, creativity, and lifelong values.

With gratitude, fairy dust, and a dragon-sized hug,

Kimberly Vaughan
