Celebrate the magic of monarchs with a heartwarming tea party and the official launch of Mari the Monarch: Legacy of the Wings by local author Kimberly Vaughan!
Join us in the Butterfly Pavilion at the Mariposa Butterfly Festival for a special reading of this beautifully illustrated new book, where Mari—guided by the whispers of her great-grandmother—takes flight on a journey from the coast to the hills of Mariposa. Along the way, she learns the power of legacy, the importance of milkweed, and the role we all play in protecting butterflies.
Children will enjoy a special StoryTime with Mari herself. Each child will receive a “Guardian of the Grove” certificate, participate in butterfly-friendly crafts, and be invited to imagine themselves as part of Mari’s world.

Children will enjoy a special reading of Miranda & Yose: Guardians of the Grove read aloud by the fairy herself. Every young guest will receive a magical
“Guardian of the Grove” certificate, officially welcoming them into Miranda’s circle of forest protectors.
This heartwarming, interactive experience invites children to imagine, believe, and learn how even the smallest actions—like picking up litter—can help protect our natural world.
